Robert GROSVENOR

(born in 1937; lives in New York) is known for his cantilevered constructions which informed the aesthetics of « minimal » sculpture. He has instructed the museum to stretch a plastic-covered wire horizontally one foot below the ceiling and on a diagonal from one corner to one foot short of another corner. At that point, the wire turns and runs at a 90° angle into the floor. The outcome is an almost invisible line marking three points in the gallery.

(né en 1937; vit à New York) est connu pour ses porte-à-faux qui empruntent à l’esthétique de la sculpture « minimale ». Il a demandé au musée de tendre un fil gainé, horizontalement, 30 cm en-dessous du plafond, en diagonal d’un coin de la galerie à un autre. À cet autre coin, le fil tourne à 90° jusqu’au sol. Le résultat est une ligne quasi invisible marquant trois points de la galerie.
